Window Previews
Long press or hover over any running application to instantly reveal live thumbnail previews of all its active windows. You get a perfect overview without leaving your current task.
Take action directly from the preview. Focus a window, bring it to the current Space, close, minimize, hide, fullscreen, quit, force quit, maximize, or tile it into halves and quarters.
Make it yours. Choose dynamic image sizing, preview width, app names, window titles, browser profile badges, compact mode, animations, and exactly which controls appear.
Dock Profiles
Create multiple dock profiles, each with its own pinned apps, folders, files, web links, spacers, separators, widgets, custom icons, and even a profile-specific background image. Assign a different set to each display.
Dock Profiles takes it further! Link a profile to a specific app, and your dock will automatically switch the moment that application gains focus.
Export everything to JSON and import on another machine.
Control Panel
A simple long press opens up a full drawer designed to keep your most-used system controls, apps, and actions right where you need them.
Access a dedicated app launcher, reorder Control Center sections, build a custom drawer app list, and quickly switch between your custom dock profiles.
Add Quick Actions for settings, launch items, File Tray info, quit/restart, and macOS Shortcuts, then pin your favorite actions directly to the dock.
Music Player
A footer widget shows animated album artwork for the current track. Tap to play/pause, scroll to adjust volume, long-press for the full player.
The full popover has album art with a 3D flip animation on track change, scrolling track info, a seek bar, and controls for skip, scrub, play/pause.
Synced lyrics highlight the current line in real time with a karaoke-like anticipation offset. It works with Apple Music, Spotify, and more.
Dock Widgets
Build widget stacks before or after your apps. Each stack can hold multiple widgets, use single or double tiles, and automatically return to a starred main widget after a delay.
Use built-in widgets for Clock, Battery, Weather, Now Playing, Trash, File Tray, AirDrop, Show Desktop, Audio Device, and Quick Actions.
Install community widgets from the marketplace or manage trusted local widget bundles. Everything inherits the dock's glass material and theming.
File Tray
Scroll up on the dock to reveal a hidden staging area. This provides a clean space to drop files and store them temporarily!
Choose whether a tap opens the file or reveals it in Finder. Drag files out to move them, or drag them straight to the trash when you are done.
It includes an optional AirDrop zone while dragging and can ask for confirmation before removing files from the tray.
DockDoor Free vs Pro
DockDoor Free enhances the macOS Dock. DockDoor Pro is a separate Dock replacement with its own icon previews, profiles, widgets, customization, advanced keybinds, Alt+Tab controls, and deeper window controls.
A lightweight enhancement for the built-in macOS Dock.
A separate app that replaces the Dock with a full DockDoor Pro environment.
Window previews for open windows.
Window previews from DockDoor Pro's own Dock icons, plus actions, tiling, controls, keybinds, and Alt+Tab-style navigation.
Keeps the system Dock. It adds features on top of macOS.
Intended to replace the native Dock entirely. The recommended setup is to hide the built-in Dock at the bottom of DockDoor Pro settings. macOS may still show the native Dock in OS-controlled areas such as Mission Control.
Focused on lightweight preview improvements.
Profiles, pinned apps, folders, files, links, app groups, spacers, separators, custom icons, and display-specific setups.
No DockDoor Pro widget platform.
Built-in widgets and marketplace widgets, including Clipboard, Network Monitor, Weather, File Tray, Quick Actions, and more.
Use it when you want to keep the built-in Dock.
You usually do not need DockDoor Free if DockDoor Pro is replacing your Dock.
Widget Marketplace
DockDoor Pro can load trusted widget bundles from the marketplace, or load your own local widgets entirely offline. Developers are welcome to build widgets and contribute them back. The list below is pulled from the live manifest.
