Data Collection and Telemetry

DockDoor Pro is built with privacy at its core. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no file scanning, and no tracking of your usage habits. The application runs entirely locally on your Mac, and the only data it ever sends anywhere is the minimal license activation data and, if you use the weather widget, the weather forecast requests described below.

System Permissions

To function correctly, DockDoor Pro requires specific macOS permissions:

• Screen Recording: Required exclusively to generate live window previews and thumbnails. This visual data never leaves your computer's temporary memory and is never transmitted or saved to disk.
• Accessibility: Required to manipulate windows, bring apps to the front, and control system functions like audio and power. We do not log keystrokes or track your interaction with other apps.
• Automation: DockDoor Pro may request access to control various applications, such as Finder. This is to enable features that require AppleScript, like allowing DockDoor Pro to clear your trash can.

License Activation

The app contacts our license server to activate your license and to revalidate it periodically. It sends your license key, a one way hashed device identifier (SHA 256, computed on your Mac so raw hardware identifiers never leave your machine), and your Mac's computer name, which appears in the self-service device portal so you can recognize your own devices. All requests travel over HTTPS.

On our servers we retain only what license enforcement needs: the license key, hashed device identifiers, device names, activation and last-seen dates, and, for purchases made through our checkout provider, the order's transaction ID and a keyed one way hash of the purchase email used solely to return your key to you. We do not retain plaintext email addresses. IP addresses are kept only as short-lived keyed hashes for rate limiting and expire automatically within minutes.

Weather

If you add the weather widget, the app requests forecasts through our server rather than contacting a weather provider directly. Each request includes your license key, the same hashed device identifier used for activation, and the coordinates and timezone of the forecast location, which is either your approximate current location or a city you chose in settings. Our server passes only the coordinates to Apple's weather service to retrieve the forecast and returns it to the app.

We do not build or keep any location history. Forecasts are cached briefly under coordinates rounded to roughly a kilometer with no account or device attached, request logs contain only the same masked and hashed identifiers described above and never coordinates, and your location is never stored alongside your identity or shared with anyone beyond Apple's weather service for the sole purpose of retrieving your forecast.

Cryptographic Verification and Updates

License responses are cryptographically signed to detect tampering. Additionally, if you enable automatic updates, the app will periodically ping our server to check for new versions, sending only your current version number and OS version. All communication is strictly over HTTPS.

Third Parties

DockDoor Pro contains zero advertising SDKs, zero analytics frameworks, and zero external tracking services, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own use. Purchases are processed by independent checkout providers acting as merchant of record; they collect and handle your payment details and email under their own privacy policies, and we never receive your payment card information.

Where Data Is Processed

Our license and weather servers run on cloud infrastructure located in the United States. If you use DockDoor Pro from outside the US, the minimal data described above is processed there under the safeguards described in this policy.

Contact and Your Rights

DockDoor Pro is developed by Kepler Cafe, based in the United States. You can see the devices activated on your license at any time in the self-service portal, and remove them yourself. For any privacy question, or to request a copy or deletion of the license data we hold about you, email [email protected] and we will respond promptly. Because we keep so little, a deletion request simply removes your license record and its hashed device identifiers; note that this deactivates the license itself, since that record is the only thing we hold.

License Grant

Upon purchase, you are granted a non exclusive, non transferable license to install and use DockDoor Pro on your personal Mac devices, up to the limit specified by your license tier.

Restrictions

You may not redistribute, reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the software. You are strictly prohibited from sharing your license key or attempting to circumvent the license activation system.

Updates and Maintenance

Your license includes access to software updates and improvements. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features in future updates as macOS evolves.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the software will be error free or perfectly compatible with all future macOS releases.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the author or copyright holder be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise, arising from, out of, or in connection with the software or the use of other dealings in the software.

Revocation

We reserve the right to terminate or revoke a license in the event of severe misuse, piracy, or violation of these terms.

How to Request a Refund

Reply to your purchase receipt email, or email us at [email protected] with the email address you used at checkout. We will start the refund for you.

Processing

Refunds are processed back to the original payment method used for the purchase. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it can take a few business days for the funds to appear on your statement.

Third-Party Checkout Providers

Purchases are processed by our checkout partners, who act as the merchant of record and appear on your statement. The 14-day money-back guarantee applies regardless of which checkout you purchased through, and you may also request a refund directly from the checkout provider named on your receipt.
